"World Walking Day 2010" in Guangzhou

The "World Walking Day 2010" in China shall be held in Guangzhou on July 10th. Organized by the State General Administration of Sports (SGAS) and Trim and Fitness International Sport for All Associations (TAFISA), a long walk shall start at the main stadium of the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center.
In Guangzhou, citizens will walk a complete 5-kilometer circle around the university city along the inner ring road which passes by 10 universities.
This event was launched in 1992 and now includes 70 countries and regions worldwide with several million participants every year. It is the most influential and largest walking event in the world. As the first stopover of Infinitus 2010 World Walking Day campaign, it marks the first large scale World Walking Day event in China. The walk plays a part in enhancing physical health, expanding social networking and promoting low-carbon livestyles.
The "Infinitus 2010 World Walking Day" activities will later be carried out in the cities of Shenyang, Qingdao, Wuhan, Chengdu and Shanghai.
